In the renovated interiors of the manor house of the XIX century, exhibited about thirty "Talking machines".
The history of the sound – recording carriers has begun since the 21-st of November, 1877 and is associated with the name of the famous inventor – Thomas Edison. Public demonstration of the device made Edison famous. He was baptized a magician, and the phonograph Edison received a patent in 1878 and began to mass sales. The exhibition is presented a several phonographs of Thomas Edison, the phonograph company "Columbia" and devices known by the French company "Pathe".
In the XIX century, the phonograph began to be replaced by another invention – the gramophone. Its creator was Emile Berliner and proposed the improvement of the phonograph. Berliner began instead cylinders to use disks for recording and playing sounds. A new invention called a gramophone (from the Greek. gram – record, background sound), was patented by Berliner on September 26, 1887. Soon the company for the production of phonographs began to appear around the world. The apparatus of the most well-known manufacturers is represented at the exhibition: English "Amour Record" and "His master's voice", French "Pathe".
And yet two decades later, in 1907, the French firm Pathe (Utes) was presented a gramophone. It was a mechanical-acoustic device for playing gramophone records, portable type portable gramophone from a hidden mouthpiece.
All the mechanisms are in good condition. They can rightly be considered not only examples of technical progress, but also works of art, examples of design ideas.
Despite the fact that in the 1980-ies, with the advent of computer carriers, gramophone records began to go out of use, the specialists soon came to the conclusion that digital recording has several disadvantages, not possible to reproduce in full all the colors and features of musical sound.
